We are located in the mountains of Eastern San Diego County on a ranch dedicated to dogs of all types. Tracy Jenson-Presson has been Training Dogs for decades and her ability is renowned. There is no greater feeling of anxity for a dog owner than see it injured by a rattlesnake bite. Every Spring Tracy holds clinics at her ranch/kennels to train all breeds of dogs to avoid rattlers. Below are some of the FAQ’S (frequently asked questions) Tracy answers.

FAQ’S

 

·        How long will it take?

o       You will be there no longer that half an hour

 

  • How is it done?
    • We use an Electric Training Collar to simulate a snake bite. We teach the dog that the sound sight and scent of the Rattlesnake will hurt.

 

  • How much does it cost?
    • The cost is $60.00 per dog

 

  • Who handles my dog?
    • Your dog is handled by trained handlers. The Trainer follows the dog and gives the stimulations to train the dogs stay away from Rattlesnakes

 

  • Can the Snake hurt my dog?
    • No, all precautions are taken to keep your dogs safe, the snakes have hoods on so they are unable to bite.

 

  • Do the Snakes get hurt?
    • No, the Snakes are well cared for and no snake has ever been injured.

 

  • What do I do when I arrive for my Appointment?
    • Please leave your dog in the vehicle while you sign in. The Handler will come and get your dog when it’s turn is up. However, once you are signed in you are free to walk you dog on leash in the Parking area. Please avoid dog to dog contact as owners and dogs may be nervous.

 

  • How do I get to High On Kennels?
    • The address is 26920 Mesa Grande Road  in the town of Santa Ysabel, 92070.
      • From Central San Diego area go up through Ramona on Hwy 78 towards Julian. Turn left on Hwy 79 then in 2 miles turn left on Mesa Grande Road. Travel 9.5 miles up Mesa Grande Road to 26920 Mesa Grande Road. The ranch is on the left side of the road. Turn left into the driveway. Once you enter the property take the dirt road on your left hand side and park on the right hand side of the dirt road.
      • From North San Diego County take Hwy 76 past Lake Henshaw Campground 2 miles. Turn right on Mesa Grande Road. Travel 2 and a half miles to 26920 Mesa Grande Road. The ranch is on the right side of the road. Turn right into the driveway. Once you enter the property take the dirt road on your left hand side and park on the right hand side of the dirt road.
